ABOUT US
Our birth was a moment of epiphany. In 2004, two seasoned journalists decided to explore the bold new world of media entrepreneurship with knowledge as our capital. Our very first office space on a tree-lined avenue with a glorious canopy of green was inspiring, and viola! we were christened!
Our branches have grown bigger with each passing year, and while the loss of our co-founder left us shaky for a while, green shoots have grown from the deep roots.
We keep adding new chapters to our story and we hope you will keep inspiring us.
OUR LEADERSHIP
SANDHYA MENDONCA
SANDHYA MENDONCA Founder, Managing Director & Chief Editor
‘Every day is exciting as it’s an opportunity to test drive a new idea’, says Sandhya Mendonca, Founder, Managing Director & Chief Editor. She wears many hats: Media Entrepreneur, Writer, Storyteller, Cultural Evangelist. She often drives us mad, sweeping us along with her impatient zeal. Apart from her day job at our company, Sandhya is a writer whose work is also published by the biggies of publishing such as Random House, Penguin and Tata Westland. Her latest book, ``Disrupt & Conquer - how TTK Prestige became a billion dollar company`` has just been published by Penguin. Having worked as a journalist in Print & TV with leading media houses is a big asset, she says, as she knows all the right questions to ask. She’s also been a Visiting Professor at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and has worked a media consultant with corporates.
ADITYA MENDONCA
ADITYA MENDONCA Head - Digital Experiences
Aditya has a contagious smile which spreads when he meets you. He is the founder of TheGoodCity.in and hosts a podcast & vlog series where he interviews a wide range of people, sportspersons, entrepreneurs and more.
He will tell you about the laps he’s swum or the miles he’s ridden on his cycle, solo or with the SouthFire cycling team that he’s founded. A foodie & dark roast coffee fan, he’s an awardee of the international INDIAFRICA Young Visionaries Fellowship program.
CAPT S SESHADRI
CAPT S SESHADRI Consulting Editor
Formerly of the Indian army, he’s our ‘go-to’ person for everything. A keen wordsmith, he is also a golfer, marathoner, swimmer and a drummer.
SUBHALAKSHMI ROY
SUBHALAKSHMI ROY Head - Editorial Operations
The shortest person in the team also has the longest name! Subhalakshmi, or Su, can take on mighty jobs and get them done.
A postgrad from JNU, ever so often, she can be found perched dangerously trying to rescue a recalcitrant cat or a bird with a broken wing.
Her day job involves some fine animal characteristics too; like a dog with a bone she never, ever stops following up. She’s a founder member of Bardolators of Bangalore.
ALLEN MENDONCA Co-Founder
(8.09.1960-28.09.2009)
Allen was one of Bengaluru's best-loved journalists. In a career spanning over 25 years, he had written on diverse subjects-crime, political commentary, theatre, music and film reviews and travel features. He was most famous for his hard-hitting style of taking on errant powers-that-be in public life.
He started his career while in college, working for Southern Speaker, then moved to City Tab and Evening Herald, before joining Indian Express. This publication’s crusading zeal was right up his alley and he soon gained a reputation for gutsy reporting.
He next joined the Times of India, Bengaluru as Head of the Business Bureau, before taking over as the Head of the Metro Bureau. His pithy column ‘Metro Matters’ took up cudgels for the travails of the city. His Sunday columns where he interviewed writers, artists and their ilk brought to splendid life his felicity with words. He was the Editor of Bangalore Times and was responsible for its remarkable growth in a short period.
Even after he became a media entrepreneur, he continued to write for several national and international magazines and books. He was simultaneously Editorial Director of Explocity Group of multi-city publications.
His novel Sentinel House, about India’s most powerful media house, was published by Raintree Media in December 2009 to much acclaim.
